We are open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. To accommodate your family's needs, we offer the following full-day schedules:
Extended Care: Before-care and after-care are available for an additional fee.
Staff-to-Child Ratios
We adhere strictly to Maine DHHS licensing standards to ensure the safety and individualized care of every child:
Infants: 6 weeks to 12 months 1:4
Toddlers:1 year to 2½ years 1:5
Preschool: 2½ years to 5 years 1:8
Ages by Location
- Portland: Enrolling children ages 2 months to 24 months.
- South Portland: Enrolling children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.

Vacations & Our School Calendar
We know that consistency is key for both children and parents! To help you plan your year, we provide a full school calendar every September.
Our Scheduled Breaks:
Our school year includes 3–4 weeks of scheduled vacation time, plus one week in the summer. To keep things simple for your family’s budget, our tuition is an annual amount divided into 12 equal monthly payments. Because most months actually have more than four weeks, those "extra" days you receive throughout the year naturally balance out our vacation weeks. This means that mathematically, you aren't paying extra for the days we are closed for break!
Note: The school is closed during the last week of August at no cost to families.
Holidays & Teacher Days: Like most schools, our monthly tuition includes paid holidays and teacher in-service days, which allow our team to grow and bring the best Montessori experience to your child.
Alternative Care:
During our vacation weeks, we often offer a fun Vacation Camp for an additional fee. If you choose not to enroll in camp, we ask that you make alternative childcare arrangements for those dates.
Staying Safe Together The safety of our students is our first priority. We reserve the right to close if we cannot safely operate the building (such as a loss of power, heat, or water, or during health emergencies). In these rare instances, tuition is not refunded as our school’s operating costs continue, but we will always work to reopen as quickly and safely as possible.
